Introducing our new lightweight carbon composite driveshaft using premium quality Japanese Toray carbon fibre yarn and manufactured using prepared methods to ensure a lightweight, extremely strong and durable driveshaft.
A weight reduction of approximately 7kg over an oem steel shaft, featuring our unique dual CV (constant velocity) joints for smooth operation and minimising vibrations over a conventional universal joint/constant velocity hybrid steel or carbon shafts.

Key advantages of a carbon driveshaft over a 2 piece steel OEM driveshaft:
- Lightweight: Carbon driveshafts are significantly lighter than traditional metal driveshafts, reducing rotational mass and improving overall vehicle performance.
- Increased Strength: Carbon fibre is known for its high strength to weight ratio, providing improved durability and resistance to bending and torsional forces. (up to 4000nm constant torque)
- Smoother Operation: Carbon fibre dampens vibrations better than metal, resulting in smoother operation and less stress on other drivetrain components. Our unique dual end CV joints offers a vastly smoother running when compared to CV and UJ hybrid shafts - which need indexing and can still have vibrations at a specific rpm window.
- Corrosion Resistance: Unlike metal, carbon fibre is not susceptible to rust or corrosion, making it ideal for use in harsh winter environments.
- Enhanced Performance: Carbon driveshafts can improve acceleration, throttle response, and fuel efficiency due to their reduced weight and rotational inertia.
- Longer Lifespan: With proper maintenance, carbon driveshafts can have a longer service life compared to metal counterparts, reducing the need for bearing or universal or CV joint servicing or replacement.
Installation Note:
Once installed the Supertec Racing Carbon Driveshaft has a 10mm telescopic travel between the gearbox and differential. It is crucial to ensure that there are no other objects within 20mm of the driveshaft.
*Weight will vary depending on model between 7.48-7.8kg. R32 GTR driveshaft for Getrag being the shortest and weighing in at 7.48kg/16.50lbs (See pictures) and the R33 GTR 5sp driveshaft being the longest weighing at around 7.9kg.
